InstaReview: Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin

"We are all living, at most, half of a life she thought. There was the life you lived, which consisted of the choices you made. And then, there was the other life, the one that was the things you hadn't chosen."

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is a beautiful novel about friendship, creation, love, and loss. Sam and Sadie are childhood best friends, but when Sam learns the truth of how their friendship started, the only true connection each of them had is ruined. Fast forward a decade, they serendipitously run into each other while attending university in the same city. This fortuitous meeting sets in motion a future of fame, fortune, and tragedy. We don’t want to give away too much, because we encourage you to just pick up this book and get swept away in the narrative. Maybe you think this book isn’t for you because you don’t love gaming. Erroneous! While the premise is set in a world of video game enthusiasts, Zevin created a novel for anyone to enjoy (but we did crush some Mario Kart on our N64s when we were growing up). @bookofthemonth has crowned Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow as the Book of the Year and it’s currently in the running for best fiction in the @goodreads yearly polls. Will it take home both prizes? Only time will tell.
